Jumpers

We do a good job in developing solid, competent jumpers for the field or the arena, for lessons or show.  We start all of our horses jumping at liberty, in a round pen for upwards of a dozen lessons before a rider ever takes them to a fence.  During that time they see fences up to 3' and the fences change during every lesson.  Each lesson is 50-60 fences, so a horse can develop an eye, learn how to set himself up for a fence, and become comfortable with the challenge on his own.  This is the secret to developing jumpers who truly enjoy the fences and a horse that can pack a rider.  We have often taken our horses from the round pen to a show in a single week and pinned in the ribbons.  Our horses are solid, steady jumpers who do not have tendencies to stop or run out, and they will jump anything in front of them.  Lately we've been doing a lot of over fences training and those horses are on this page.  I am trying to get photos of each one of them jumping, but haven't gotten them all yet...jumping photos are some of the most difficult photos to take!!

Dogwood, 11yrs, 14.3h (Need to get jumping photos ~ we've been using her for beginners and haven't had a chance to get photos)

Cute paint mare, perfect for a child, she has three good gaits and a lot of trail miles.  She'll babysit with the best of them, and has more patience than I do ~ she LOVES kids.  We've used her a lot in the camps this summer and she has carried everyone, at any riding level and she has always been a willing worker.

When we got her, her mane has been chewed by her pasture buddy, so tsome of the early photos have the short mane.  The later photos have it looking good.  She's a cute mover and a and one of those rare horses that is QUIET and PATIENT with kids and beginners, but she will move out when asked.  We've used her English, western, on trails and in the ring.  And she will take on anything, one week a 9 year old beginner won the egg and spoon ahead of all the big kids!!!  We've worked her twice in a day, and not worked her for a week, she always comes out the same and has NEVER put a foot out of place, never been ill tempered, shied at anything, never offered to do anything wrong.  We can't say enough good about this mare!

She'd be cute in 4-H, has a great attitude to play games and would make a general all around horse for almost any level rider.  She gets along with other horses and will go alone or with horses bumping into her.  She never gets rattled.

Eventing, dressage, hunter, kids hunter, flat work...

This great mare has lots of show miles at the big shows and is a GREAT starter horse for a child or adult amateur, and can be a big winner at the state or 4-H level.  She is kind, solid and knows her job.  She can show on the flat, over fences, event, or dressage.  We took her down to a 3' fence and she didn't even blink, just took it in stride and made it look like a crossrail.  She's always correct, does flying changes and has perfect manners.

First time out she was Champion in the Winslet Series show.  This mare is an excellent Armature or child's jumper, eventer or cross country competitor.

Cee Sugar Booger (Sugar), 4 yr old, 14h

We bought this mare as a 3 year old, because we liked her style and temperament and we thought she would make a GREAT pony.  We turned her out to pasture and rode her for the first time in six months and she just went right off.  She is quiet and willing and will quietly carry beginners, but she is also athletic and a FANTASTIC jumper!  She has a great eye, LOVES jumping and can use her shoulders like a champ.  But drop her head and she will walk off down the trail, through water, alone or in a group!!  She has a SUPER, flowing, flat kneed movement that will make her a standout in the ring, and she has the mind of a Quarter Horse and the size of a pony!!

She is well broke and has no vices. Sugar has a quiet mind and would be perfect for a child or small adult who wants a greatShe's been bred, broke and trained in Pryor, OK, heart of good riding country, and all with the same owner.  Great red roan color, she is a standout in any crowd.  No spook, no bad habits, lots of good attitude.

Selene, 5yrs, 13.2h

Great Medium size pony mare, as pretty as they come, with a great mind and a lot of talent.  She carries kids very well, and is a FANTASTIC jumper, a good mover and as cute as a button!  Consistent and level, she will jump 3' without any problem.  Every picture you get of her over fences looks the same!  Just head her at a fence and hang on!!  This pony can go up into any kind of competition and hold her own.  She could end up being a fancy pony.

As an added bonus you can put a western saddle on her and ride her out on the trails.  That is what she did for a living before coming here, the kids rode her on the trails.
