Directions

I am TERRIBLE at giving directions. Therefore, I have had several people look at these to be sure they are correct and easy to use.

HOWEVER, like everyone, we do have lives, plans, lessons, and obligations away from the farm. This is not a retail establishment, it is our home, and like all of you, we would like some notice before we have strangers wandering around our property. Also, since we work 7 days a week, we use the time when we are not expecting people to run errands, catch up on projects and go shopping. Chances are that we may not be here if you just drop in.

From the North: Washington D.C., Warrenton, Culpeper We are about a half an hour from Culpeper, about an hour from the Gainsville exit (Hwy 29) on Rt 66.

South on Rt. 29 the to Ruckersville light (Burger King)

Right toward Stanardsville on Rt. 33 West. Go about 1 mile to 743/Advanced Mills Rd. (There is a small state sign directly in front of the left turn lane which says Midway) This road is BEFORE the gas station and coin operated car wash on the right.

There is a left turn lane. Turn Left on 743 (Advanced Mills Rd). Travel 1.3 miles, or about 1 1/4 miles, to the only paved road that goes to the right, and it only goes right. (Sam Durrer Rd./ 671)

Take Sam Durrer a little over 1/2 mile. The road will make a hard bend to the left and fork. Stay on the right hand fork and go in the first right hand driveway, (Only a couple of hundred feet ~ less than .1 mile.) There is a sign for the farm.

From the South: If you are south of Charlottesville, you will have to follow the bypass to Rt. 29 North and get off, following the airport signs, and Washington D.C. DO NOT TAKE 29 BUSINESS EXIT, it will get you there, but it winds through UVA! Go north on the second 29 exit, which does NOT say business, it is toward D.C., and the airport.

From Charlottesville. We are about 15 minutes north of Fashion Square, just stay on Rt. 29, ABOUT 10 MINUTES NORTH OF AIRPORT ROAD.

North on 29, just over the Greene County line. First light (Sheetz and Food Lion) turn left on 607/Cedar Grove Rd (Toward Food Lion).

Go 1 1/4 mile, past some housing developments, to the top of the hill (3 Commercial Chicken Coops on the right.) and turn right at Advanced Mills Rd./743. This is the first right that does not go into a housing development. Be sure to look for the end of the housing development and the large commercial chicken houses and turn RIGHT at the top of the small hill. If you keep going straight you will ALSO be on Advanced Mills Rd./743. When people miss the turn they see the sign and think they have somehow gotten on the correct road. But they are GOING THE WRONG DIRECTION. YOU MUST MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN TO GET ONTO THE PROPER SECTION OF Advanced Mills Rd./743.

Travel .7 ~ 3/4 miles to Sam Durrer Rd. (671). This is the only road that goes to the left, and it only goes to the left.

From the West: Harrisonburg/ Hwy 81

Take Rt 33 east, approximately 35 miles from Hwy 81. This takes you up and over the Blue Ridge Mountains and down the other side. About 7 miles after you reach the point where Rt. 33 again splits into a divided hwy, (just after the new school ~ There are school signs.) you will pass a small gas station and coin operated car wash on the left just before you turn right on 743/Advanced Mills Rd. If you get to Rt. 29 (Burger King) you have overshot it.

From the East: Richmond

Interstate 64 west from Richmond. Exit on Rt 15 toward Gordonsvlle (About 20 miles before Charlottesville). Travel through Gordonsville, to the traffic circle just north of town, and about two blocks after the RR bridge. Go around the circle to Rt. 33 West toward Barboursville, and Ruckersville, at the traffic circle. Proceed through Barboursville, to Rt 29, Ruckersville where the Burger King is, and go through the light, staying on Rt 33, headed West.
