Gaited Horses

A lot of people who want something for guests, older riders who need a smooth ride, or beginners who have yet to master the trot. These clients want something smooth and solid of mind, something easy to get along with on the trails.  We try to keep some nice quiet gaited trail horses in stock for those clients.  All of our gaited horses are easy and natural in their gaits and do not require effort or special skill to get them to "gait."  They simply move up into their gait naturally.

Our videos are shot for each horse when a video is ordered, so it may take a few days to get it.  They are uninterrupted, run about 20 minutes, and start with the saddling.  They show the horse at all gaits, and whatever else the horse is capable of.  You may request particular attention to something which concerns your needs, just make a note of it on the order form or email us.  Videos are now send in DVD format unless VHS is requested.

Nile, gaited trail horse, 12 years, 15.2, GELDING

If you want something that has been there, done that and can be counted on like a bank teller, take a look at this nice black gelding.  He has the size to carry anyone.  Neck reins and has smooth gaits that he gets naturally.

Well, we only got two photos that turned out due to camera problems (We really do need a new digital camera, but there are so many choices these days, I find it overwhelming every time I go to look!!)  And then we FORGOT to take any more.  But this really is the best buy on the property!!  He is friendly, he comes in the pasture and will follow you around, and take a look at Paige riding this guy all around bareback with a halter, even in the cold, blowing weather!!  You can't ask for more than that, and look at his price!!  And this horse gaits RIGHT, even with a halter!!  If you can't ride this guy, you need to take up knitting!!

Hard Wood, Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse, 8 years, 15.3h, GELDING

Great flashy smooth gaited horse with a lot of style, he looks like he would be a handful, but he is quiet enough for any rider who is advanced enough to keep their heels off his sides ~ he is well trained and will not carry a rider who holds on with their heels ~ he thinks he should move out if you are digging your heels in!

Very smooth gaits and easy to rate, he moves along with style.  He rides well with other horses and runs in the field with other horses without a problem.  He goes English or western.  He likes a lot of outdoor time.  He comes from the mountains of KY (Yes, literally) and he has never lived city life.  He is easy to catch in a pasture, likes treats and has lots of personality.

Coal Diggin' ~ Registered United Racking Horse Owners and Exhibitors Association, 2001, 15.1h

This flashy, big black gelding with no white is a standout.  Smooth, natural mover, lots of style and spark, but easy to ride.  Great man's horse.  Stands for mounting, very fancy.  He was in show training in TN and they got him because the owner defaulted on the board and training bill, so the TWHBEA papers didn't come with him.  They put Racking horse papers on him because he certainly passed inspection.  He could show today and go on trails tomorrow!
