Nature's Way Bits

Ride the most natural way!

A different, more natural way to ride!

The American Indians were one with their horses.  They rode in all kinds of conditions, without the aid of steel bits.  Now you can too.

Nature's Way Bits are developed by combining a design that has been popular in Europe for many years, and the essentials of the Indian bridles.

Nature's Way Bits are made to our patented specifications, from top quality leather, hand sewn by a master leather crafter of many years experience, with copper rivets to give the sweet taste and keep the mouth moist.  Brass exterior rings wouldn't rust.  And you never need a headstall.

When I was a child, I had an Indian horse trainer who used to break horses with the set up the plains Indians used.  You can see it in some of the old paintings of the West.  I took another look at it when I was in college, as History of the American West was my specialty.  But a couple of years ago we had a German rider working for us and she brought a European bit with her that was similar.  We combined the two and came up with a design, then had to find someone who was a master leather crafter who could make them.  We are just starting to sell them and they have been doing very well.  As soon as I get time, I will put up some of the great replies we have received from those who have purchased the bit.
