This is NOT a full listing of sold horses. In fact, it is rather hit and miss, just to give you an idea of the kinds of horses we sell.
Doc Holiday, 12 years old, gaited trail horse, 15.2h ~ GAITED Doc is a quiet trail horse with a lot of trail miles. He is a good size and can go all day. We can't say anything but good about this guy, so we'll just let these pictures say all you need to know!! One of our kid riders has had him all over the fields, down the road, into the woods. He rides English, western and bareback. Congratulations to Lucy Ivanoff or Harrisonburg, VA
This is the cutest thing we have seen in years. Crackerjack is a small pony with the heart of a lion. He is refined, well mannered, and can rack a hole in the ground!!! He goes in the ring, on the road, through the fields, and on the trail. Great color, PRETTY HEAD AND NECK, he will steal your heart. We showed him against the big horses and he was NEVER OUT OF THE RIBBONS, and it didn't bother him a bit that he was the smallest thing in the ring!! I guarantee the kid who owns this pony will be the envy of every other kid. Everyone on the farm has ridden this little guy and he is always the first one to go out of the barn. He has stolen our hearts. His smooth gaits make it easy for young riders or beginners to learn to ride. He would make a perfect lead line or go as you please competitors. Congratulations to Katrina Gilbert from Goshen NY
Paint mare with one blue eye. She is an excellent jumper for a child or adult. She is a great jumper pony, capable of doing a course with speed and enough control to make tight turns. This is a pony that can WIN in the jumper arena. We have shown her successfully in jumper shows. She is always in the ribbons, and often ~ like last week against 16 jumpers ~ division champion. (She won two classes and was 5th in the other when the child that was riding her couldn't remember the pattern and had to circle trying to find the fence while we all yelled!!!!) A great starting sporthorse for child or amateur rider. She is also successful on the cross country courses and has shown successfully in NJ on the cross country pony division. She is a great eventing prospect. This mare has a LOT of jump in her, she will jump 3+ feet and will go over anything, she has a lot of spring and is BRAVE at fences. As you would expect, she has some motor. She isn't crazy, but she isn't a beginner horse, she requires a rider who is ready to move into those events and win at them. She is very controllable, will stop, but carries some speed around the course. She would require some work to get her to hunter speed. But when the work it over, she will drop her head and walks off like a trail horse. This mare will be a star in pony club or 4-H. She is so cute over fences, she snaps her knees up past vertical, tucks tightly and frames nicely over the fence. She doesn't need a great rider, just one with some time in the saddle and confidence to trust in a very competent and athletic pony. We took her to her to a show on Sunday and she was 3rd with a VERY respectable showing. She was the only pony jumping 3' against 16h horses in an open Gambler's Choice and she was a real crowd pleaser, she snaps up her legs and can take a fence at any angle and cut turns!
This nice, big gelding doesn't look his age. He rides will, has a canter to DIE for, will go on the trail, will move some cattle, will ride English or western, and has enough energy to do whatever you want him to do. He has the size and the power for anyone, but will carry any level rider. He is handy, neck reins, will make a great family or husband horse. He rides English or Western and would make an economical starter 4-H horse. He has lots of handle and no bad habits. Gives lessons and has enough training to be able to teach a rider. Moves away from the leg, is very flexible, yields to leg, and is a real school horse. He would make a great beginner level penning horse or barrel horse, but wouldn't run off. No vices, quiet, good mind. Smokey 2002, 14.2h CUTE, quiet grey grade quarter horse measures pony. VERY quiet, he will tolerate even the timid beginner. We love this horse and have worked him this summer with the beginner campers. He is a favorite of everyone who rides him. Great for a child, small adult, older person who doesn't want something too big to climb up on. Smokey is one of a group of small ranch geldings we got from Oklahoma and he has been on trails and working on ranches all his life. He will walk, jog, trot and canter and should be a star in 4-H or even lead line. We have a lot of people looking for horses for very young children and Smokey has the temperament and training to fill the bill. But he is also cute enough that he screams "hunter pony" for those who want something with a little style. This is a horse that could be a great family horse or trail horse for an adult, but he could also be a great horse to start a beginner child and he is young enough to learn to jump or play games as the child got older and more advanced.
Bandit does all you can ask a horse to do. He rides English and western, has all the training you would want, yet will carry an advanced beginner. The only reason he would not carry a Beginner, Beginner is because he is a big, free moving horse with a springy stride and while his mind is willing, his lovely MOVEMENT may be too much power for a very new rider. If you want a horse that will do a little bit of everything at a good price, take a good look at Bandit. He will go on the trail, rides English or Western, frames up and has the leg for dressage, will roll back and run barrels, and is ever started over fences!!!! Bandit is a willing worker, a nice looking horse, and priced right for someone who wants a horse to have fun with. He comes out of Missouri where he did miles of work on the ranch, and played with the kids. Big enough for a man, he neck reins, direct reins, is flexible and yields to show training level dressage with just a little bit of work, and is responsive to hands, legs and seat. No vices, wouldn't buck or rear, he will go when you ask him to and stop when you want him to. He has that TB look, but is almost all foundation bred, and carries that very sensible mind and willingness to work and please his rider. Priced at only $2900, this horse is a great find. This guy is ready to win on any circuit and will carry any rider. Many Western Pleasure horses are really quite difficult to ride ~ Jimmy would carry my dog, Rosco!!! Start a kid showing on him, use him for an older rider, he is beautiful and goes with his head down and smooth, slow gaits that will carry you and he to the winner's circle. Slow, smooth gaits, Jimmy even has a pretty and smooth extended trot which would convert easily to English. Take a look at his pedigree, he is Incentive Fund nominated and bred to do the job. Stamped HYPP N/N on his papers. Leave him in a stall, ride him every day, Jimmy will make you proud to be his partner. Gentle and easy to work around, he would make a great addition to anyone's barn, a great first horse, and although he isn't tall, he is beefy enough to carry any size rider. Heath is a nice size for almost any rider and he is solid on the train and in the ring. Smooth as he ambles along at a flat walk or slow rack, nothing bothers him and he goes on a loose rein. plenty of ability to stop or turn, he isn't so quick he will turn out from under even the greenest rider. Perfect for guests or those who need a solid first horse, Heath is easy on the back and knees of older riders and wouldn't shake a beginner off by hitting the trot!! He is priced to make a good family addition. Congratulations to Elizabeth Yerkas of Springfield, VA
This guy is also from the University and he is very nice. He has a motor, as you would expect a Morab to have, but he is VERY well mannered, not at all skiddish, and very easy to control. He got off the trailer, walked into the new barn, came out the next day and went right to work. We have been very impressed with him. He is very stocky and has good legs and feet. He has the Arabian head and dock. It is hard to get good pictures of a dark horse in the winter, especially in our ring because it is very shaded. In person, this guy is very impressive and quite pretty.
Congratulations to Syed Ishaq or Leesburg, VA
What more can you ask? This guy is big and pretty. He was foaled in August of 2000 and purchased in Sept of that year, and been owned by the same person until we bought him. He's been used for 4-H and local shows, both English and Western, gone on trails and done a good job at everything that's been asked of him. This horse has a kind, honest mind that will take you anywhere. Quiet enough for a beginner or child big enough for a husband horse. He's seen enough to know the score, but young enough to have years and years left in him. We have ridden him under some of the WORST conditions, with some of the WORST footing and he just goes. His head is always down, and you can't get a bad photo of him. One owner, this horse was bred, born, broke and lived in KY until just recently when the family felt they needed to cut down on the number of horses they had. He has been used on the ranch. He has lots of trail miles, follows cattle, but hasn't been to town much. He isn't sophisticated to the leg, but has good brakes and steering and can get down the trail. He'll carry any level rider and gets along well with other horses. The photos above (except for the bottom left) are of Lucy on Dandy. We have been using him with our campers and he is fantastic!!! In the bottom right photo, notice the rear view mirror of the car. There are other horses going away from him, leaving him standing next to the car...the child is 12 ~ and he is standing there next to the car!!! That's a great horse. Sonnys Fancycharmer (Charmer) APHA 1998, 14.2h This cute mare has a great attitude and loves people. She has grown up in KY, and was bought as a two year old by a family that had a farm and ran a stock yard. She has been a working lady all her life. Charmer was used by the kids and later guests, has done a ton of trail rides and been used to check cattle on a farm. She's even did some time moving cattle in the stock pens. Charmer isn't terribly sophisticated, but she is willing and learns fast. She wants to please and is quiet by nature. She meets new situations with an open mind and a solid temperament, don't look for her to get flighty, this little mare has never had time to be a deva!!! No spook in her, she likes the trail a little better than she likes the ring, but will do both. She is beginner safe and would make a great family horse. We have been using her for our summer campers and she has a big heart. Small enough to show pony, large in body to carry an adult. If you want something that will go willingly, this is one to look at.
Congratulations to Mary Beth Early of Fort Defiance, VA
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we have so many GREAT, fun photos or Jessica that we didn't know which one to put in....so we put a BUNCH of them in, about 10,000 words worth!!! Seriously, Jessica is a fun little horse with a world o of personality and will do a lot for any young rider. We bought Jessica as a three year old because we LOVED her temperament. We sold her last spring to a therapy riding program. She loved playing with the toys, and was good with the lessons that could ride, but finally got bored with walking along with someone at her head and two walkers, one on each side. We took her back and put her back in our lesson program. She loves kids, is child safe, will ride English or Western and is ready to show and very cute over fences. As you can see from the photos, Jessica will go anywhere you ask her to go!! She is so solid to fences that we have taught several people to jump on her. If you want something safe for your child, to do 4-H, pony club, play games or go on the trail, this mare is it. She is game for anything and has a ton of personality. We've even had her through the trail horse obstacles, over the bridge, and tarps. We took her to her first show and she acted like she had been doing it all her life, no spook, no fuss. She won Green Hunter Under Saddle and was second in her Over Fences class and second in the hunter hack. She is a cute little jumper and has the ability to go on up in height. Her knees are high and always EVEN and she will teach your child to jump and be a friend for life. This pony is really a find! Jessica has been showing this summer, carrying riders in their first shows. She has been willing and is a perfect lady and consistently in the ribbons. They have been riding her bareback on the trails and Jessica is a barn favorite.
Slow Zipen Asset (Zip) AQHA 1998, 15h We owned this nice horse when he was a six year old and sold him. Recently his owner called and they needed to sell him back. We got him in on Monday and one of our campers took him to a show on Saturday and won eight ribbons on him! It was her second show! This horse has miles of trail and ring experience. He has been a consistent winner at local shows, goes English and Western, and has even started jumping. He is quiet and a nice mover and could move up into AQHA kids division or even Amateur division. Solid, good smooth, slow gaits, low head, never makes a bobble. And CUTE! Will carry about any level rider. Look at his pedigree and it isn't a surprise. He is bred with the best of them. AQHA Incentive Fund nominated. Zip has a good mind and is willing to go along with whatever the program may be. No vices, loads, and is easy to work round. This horse is solid as a banker and will go fast! Nice body, solid enough for any size rider. Will make a great husband or kid's horse. We didn't really get good photos of him and will try to add some later. Saint Matt (Matt) 16 bay gelding, 2002, Registered Jocky Club and PA Breeders Assoc. This nice big horse has a quiet mind. Bred in PA and broke in TN, he has never raced and has a canter that is collected and SMOOTH. He has both a slow smooth jog and an extended trot for English. He's been used on the trails and has a quiet mind. We have work him English and over fences, but he was ridden western all his life. A very solid jumper for a beginner, he will teach a child or adult to ride and carry them anywhere. We've been giving hunter lessons on him and he jumps well. We have been using him so much for lessons we haven't gotten a chance to see how high he will go. He is solid to fences and wants to please. He's been carrying beginners all summer and has a good heart. Sir Eric

One of the typical big gentle gelding we love to bring in from the mid-west. Born and broke in NB from solid ranch stock, "Seeker" has what you are looking for in a husband horse, family horse, local show horse. We've used him in camp, both on the trails and in the ring for lessons. He has been kind, has packed the kids who don't always have great hands or seats, and has been reliable. He has enough training and sense that he would be pretty easy to train for competition trail rides, and enough ability to pick up team penning pretty easily. One of our great pretty, big geldings like Scooter or Story, Seeker will go on the trails or in the ring and look good doing it. Though shown below English, he by far prefers western. Seeker carries any level rider and we are using him in our camp program this summer as shown above. Although he has a naturally low and collected head carriage, he can put up with bouncing hands and an unsteady rider with nothing more than his nose up a little. Great lope on this gelding, easy to ride and very controlled. This is a find if you are looking for a family horse, a local show horse, a trail horse or even a 4-H horse. This is one of our great finds!!! Rascal is QUIET and ozzes quality. He's bred to be a great one and he lives up to his reputation. Look at his papers, The Scotchman, Scotch Bar Time, Sonny Dee Bar, Triple Skip....It doesn't get much better for a flashy winning pleasure horse, or just a horse with a great mind and a solid temperament. This horse is BRED to be good looking and steady. Honest on the trail, he would make a flashy recreational horse that would stand out in any crowd of riders, and carry any level rider. But look at this horse go! He frames up and has SLOW, SMOOTH collected gaits that will win for you at any level, Hunter or Western, this is a pleasure horse that can take home the points. He would set the 4-H or Pony Club circuits on fire, he would show Western or English Pleasure for an Amateur, or move up into the Paint circuit. You can't go wrong with this nice gelding. From Walk-trot with a small child to the APHA shows, he will frame up, and move off. We have been taking him to shows for our campers. The last time out he carried a young rider who had never shown before and he received two second place ribbons. He was steady and reliable, even when our rider didn't know what to do. What do people want in a horse?? SIZE: Banjo is almost 16h Beginner friendly: Take a look at the photos below, Banjo carries them all in the lesson program PRETTY: This horse is nice enough to show anywhere. And the striking black and white color make him a standout anywhere. Banjo is a QUIET, pretty, willing young man with a lot of professional training. He'll carry any level rider and has the looks and style to travel in the best of company in the ring or on the trail. Tons of trail miles, but with the polish to show. One of the best things about this gelding is that he is beginner safe without being lazy or difficult, never balking or stalling until the rider gets frustrated. He is responsive and will move ahead with a more advanced rider, yet be tolerant with a young or inexperienced rider. He is easy to work around and has great stable manners. Another of our nice OK horses, this CUTE blue roan and white pony, looks black and white from a distance. He has good manners and a fantastic look. Very round body and will carry any level rider, this guy loves people. He could make a great 4-H horse, could learn to jump and become a hunter pony, or just a great trail horse. He is careful with his feet and has gone on the open range after cattle and working fences. He's a little on the lazy side and would tolerate a beginner.

Spice is well started in Western and English Pleasure and has the build to go either way. She is very flashy with her high white socks and a big white blaze and has an honest, quiet mind. We've used this mare for lessons. Last week we taught a lady to trot on this mare. She has done lots of trail miles and shows a lot of sense. In spite of her name, Spice is kind and willing, and will go in the ring or on the trail. Spice has an excellent way of moving and can win in both English and Western!! We are starting her over fences and she shows a lot of interest and ability. Oliver has been a trail horse, joining in on many of the big overnight and family rides so popular in western KY. He is cute as a button and solid. Naturally quiet, his training isn't fancy, but it is good and solid and he learns fast. We will teach him to jump the spring if he hasn't sold first. He frames up well and has that cute Welsh head and neck. His gaits are smooth and he takes both leads. He is a great mover and could be a real favorite in the show ring. Oliver has three good gaits, has ridden mostly western, but took well to English. We will be getting more photos of him in the next few weeks. I don't think he had ever cross tied, or been in a large barn, but he adjusted well and made himself right at home. When we tried to do a flying lead change, it was clear no one had ever asked him, but he is naturally well balanced and figured it out ~ it wasn't lovely, but he stayed balanced and picked up what we wanted very quickly. I think he would have a great career as a pony hunter. Congratulations to the Robert Withers family of Fisherville, VA
The spots down his blaze gave him his name. Wonderful red dun color, three high white stockings, Coffee is flashy. If you want something solid and reliable, Coffee will get the job done. Quiet enough to carry any level rider. Would be a great kid's horse, adult trail horse, guest horse. We've had so many calls lately about smaller, solid horses for kids and trail that we went out looking for just that. We were lucky enough to find these new geldings!! This guy has ridden western and on trails all his life. We put an English saddle on him and put him in the ring and he went right off without a problem. Definitely a find! Congratulations to Patti Massey or Warrenton, VA
Another big boned, quiet gelding! Story was 10th out of 130+ horses at the Great American Trail Horse Sale, which means he went through one of the WORST "spook" trail horse course I've ever seen. It started with chickens in coops and ended with the horse having to stand outside an outhouse!!! What more can you ask from a horse? This horse is WAY more sensible and better broke than horses twice his age. He is big and pretty and wants to please. He has miles and miles of trail riding and been used around cattle. He has been used to pony horses and he will pull a drag from the horn. That's a solid horse! Story is the grandson of the great Story Man and a quality horse in his own right. This is a big pretty horse that will go English or Western, he lopes well, has fantastic head carriage, and would show well on almost any circuit. This is a horse that will show or just be a family horse you can be proud of.

Taken For Granted (Triston) 15.1h, 1992 If you are looking for an Arabian, but don't like the spook or sillyness that sometimes comes with the breed, take a good look at Triston. He has the look of a classic Arabian, but the mind of a Quarter Horse! Large in bone and body for an Arabian, Triston can carry any rider. He has the mind to be a family horse, used for lessons, to be a 4-H project. He is willing and a quick learner. He has a good, slow canter, does flying lead changes and jumps, has shown both English and Western and will go either way. He loves people and is eager for attention and has the best of the loving Arabian temperament. He is priced for a quick sale, he is worth much more, but we do mostly AQHA. Dakotasblackmac (Dakota) 14.3h sorrel gelding, 1997 Solid Black APHA We've had a lot of people asking for something gentle but inexpensive, so when we found Dakota, we brought him home. This is a horse with a heart of gold. We all love this guy because he is willing and honest as a preacher. Nothing fancy, just a cute black horse with a darling small head, that goes off down the trail without any problem. His head is higher than most of our horses, but he is willing and would carry a beginner, Dakota isn't a show horse, but he has a great mind and has a lot of trail miles on him. He's been a family horse all his life. He was foaled in June and sold to his only owners in 1997 until we bought him. He comes out of Illinois, and hasn't been blanketed, so he has enough hair to attend a 1960's hippie reunion! When he sheds out this spring he should be a flashy black beauty. It's hard to get photos of a black horse on an overcast, cold day, so the photo quality isn't great. Dogs, water, poles, he did it all and didn't complain. He walks, trots and canters and stops when asked. He neck reins pretty good and will ride in a curb or a snaffle. Congratulations to Jill Fortner, VA Beach, VA
Cowboy, 15h gelding, 2000, unregistered This is a great horse. He was born and raised in MO, by the same family. He was ridden by the 8 year old son the last couple of years. The boy rode this horse out on the ranch, helping to work the several hundred head of cattle. This is a big team penning family and they compete at the level where they are winning thousands of $$$ and big prizes. This horse was just too quiet and kind and the boy just outgrew him. He has moved onto something faster that will compete better. Cowboy will compete very well in the local team pennings and will carry a rider into some money. But his real value is that he will go out on the trail, he is willing to do what you want him to do, he is quiet, sensible and has a good work ethic. He will carry a novice or beginner, and he knows enough that they can advance their skills without being in danger of having too much action underneath them. This horse is a teacher with a PhD in kids and novice riders. Congratulations to Nichol Chancler, Oakton, VA
Scooter is big boned and makes a solid but attractive picture with any size rider. If it wasn't for his AQHA papers, he could pass as an American Warmblood. Shown with a lot of success in the Midwest in Western Pleasure, but will also make a GREAT hunter under saddle. And he should have no problem learning to jump. This is a big horse with a quiet mind and a lot of style. These photos were taken the first time he had ever had an English saddle on his back and he took it in stride and looked fantastic!!! Scoter is a one owner horse. Bred and broke in KS, he was sold due to family problems. Always gentle and easy to ride, he can be ridden and shown by the whole family. He would make a great husband horse because he is big enough to carry anyone. Lots of miles both on the trail and being hauled to shows, we think Scooter is an exceptional find. Congratulations to Connie Sowers, Swansboro, NC
Very pretty mare with extensive show background. Solid to fences, she will do 3'+, has won numerous classes, and division championships including working hunter and pleasure hunter. Always in the ribbons, has shown throughout KY and VA, including the KY Horse Park. Casey is also very well started in dressage.HYPP N/N on papers. She has been my personal horse for several years, but I don't get enough chance to ride and show her, so she would like to find a home where she gets used more. Casey loves her work and loves to jump, bring her in the ring and put her on a course and you could tie one of my dachshunds on her and she would take the fences. Brave at fences, I’ve never seen this mare refuse, even at a new show grounds with no warm-up. Some of these photos are with a student who was new to going over fences. She was a camper here and showed the horse about a half a dozen times and was always in the ribbons and had a couple of nice wins, including carrying the rider through her very first class at 2'6". Auto changes, and will pick up correct lead if you pull at the top of the fence, this mare likes to pick her own spot and has a good eye. She has a light mouth and if you can remember the course, she will get you through it! She has a lot of scope and style over the higher fences and can consistently win at many levels. Fantastic black and white pony. She is going to be a winner. We are working with her, she came from some bad handling and had some trust issues, but no major vices ~ doesn't buck or rear, bite or kick. Even so, she is a solid riding pony, very cute and she wants to trust and love. At this time, this pony is not for a beginner child. Shadow should make a great hunter pony over fences and will be a pretty rail pony. She has been western and trail riding her whole life and we need to get her working smartly in the ring to reach her potential ~ Again, buy her now at the lower price or wait until later and pay a more for a more sophisticated pony. We have found her to be very smart and very willing. She goes quietly, needs some work on the canter, but tends to be quiet and doesn't run off. She is eye-catching and everyone's favorite. Very refined with an exceptionally pretty head and an eye that will break your heart. Congratulations to Julie Sanders, Bristow, VA
Rob is a good solid horse, he goes Western or English. We brought him home and have left him standing in pasture for three or more months while he got back in condition. We saddled him up the day these photos were taken and he went right off with a child on him!!! We were very impressed with his attitude and his always correct gaits. He even LOVES dressage and is quite good at it. (See our dressage page.) Rob neck reins some, and is a willing worker. Although pictured here in English, he was working Western Pleasure when we bought him and is often ridden western on the trail. Rob also jumps at schooling level fences. You have to love this horse. I rode him to do crowd control for the local Civil War Reenactment. He cantered across fields, went off on his own, stood 50 ft. from canon going off, stood while the Calvary charged off an stood tied to the trailer when I went to get lunch. He worked hard for two full days and came home in a good mood and happy with life!!! Is there anything he can't do??
